custom GUI using opengl/directx

Hello I am making a game in monodevelop. My team and I would like to see our models/textures in monodevelop in a custom opengl/directx window that we would write. I looked briefly into the add-ins package but it seems to be more for creating new language support and/or syntax highlighting support.

 

Will we be able to create our own custom windows for doing opengl/directx drawing inside of monodevelop as a addin?

 

If not anyone have any suggestions for integrating this type of functionality?
