New Post: Issue with Path and Custom Extension Attributes

I'm still learning this great plugin framework and I like it a lot, but I'm having one issue: When you try using a path with Custom Extension Attributes, and call GetExtensionNodes with the path as a parameter, you get back ExtensionNode<attributeType> instead of TypeExtensionNode<attributeType>. Is this a bug or is it by design (or a coding error on my part)? Is there any way to get TypeExtensonNode<attributeType> using a custom extension attribute with a path? It works fine when I remove the paths from the attributes and use AddinManager.GetExtensionNodes(typeof(type)).

Any help is appreciate.

By the way, even though the above is in c#, I'm actually using it with VB.NET (VS 2012) currently. I built the source from github a few days ago.

I am currently working on creating a custom online addin repository system based on NuGet and Orchard Gallery. If you guys would like to see it when I am done, I will gladly upload it somewhere. It might take a while, as I am still learning the various... idiosyncrasies... of both NuGet and Mono.AddIns.

Hello I am making a game in monodevelop. My team and I would like to see our models/textures in monodevelop in a custom opengl/directx window that we would write. I looked briefly into the add-ins package but it seems to be more for creating new language support and/or syntax highlighting support.

Will we be able to create our own custom windows for doing opengl/directx drawing inside of monodevelop as a addin?

If not anyone have any suggestions for integrating this type of functionality?

A static link to source code tarball is needed to provide SlackBuild (package build script) support at SlackBuilds.org [ http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.0/development/mono-addins/ ].

If the project maintainers could provide the links as before at [ http://origin-download.mono-project.com/sources/mono-addins/ ], it will be great.

Don't know why or if there are some implementing reasons but moving the specialized plugin interface (IOrganizerPlugin) inside the same assembly as the plugin host works for me.

Go to makefile in the Mono.Addins.Gui project and find ASSEMBLY_COMPILER_FLAGS. Add -sdk:4 after -d:DEBUG and run make again.

Hi,

I'm trying to compile mono-addins on linux, I've installed from sources:

- mono (the head version from github repository),

- gtksharp (I tried both head and branch 2.12)

now when I try to compile mono-addins (both from the tarball on codeplex than the head on github) the autogen (or configure) ends successfully but then when I run make I get the following errors:

Building Mono.Addins.Gui.csproj:

error CS1705: Assembly `gdk-sharp, Version=2.12.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=35e10195dab3c99f' references `Mono.Cairo, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756' which has a higher version number than imported assembly `Mono.Cairo, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756'

Mono.Addins.Gui/HeaderBox.cs(133,47): error CS0012: The type `Cairo.Context' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. Consider adding a reference to assembly `Mono.Cairo, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756'

Can you help me to figure out the problem?

Yep, in addition as I wrote some posts below, it would be great to bump the assembly version accordingly to the release version. I think for many people using the Mono.Addins an upgrade is not possible because the assembly version and the file versio are still 0.6.0 instead of 0.6.2.

Yes, these are not fatal errors that one cannot fix, but wait: there is the instruction in readme.txt:

Building Mono.Addins
====================

Open Mono.Addins.sln in your IDE of choice and build the solution.
All the binaries are generated in a 'bin' subdirectory of the
solution directory.

No dependencies, no warnings.

Please make the solution to be buildable out-of-the-box.

I'm planning to use Mono.Addins in my C#/.NET project.

For that, I've read the Programming Guide and Reference Manual presented in codeplex.com, downloaded the latest version of source code from github.com, and successfully built all the samples included in the source package. However, whether the online documents or sample projects, all try to demonstrate how to extend an AddinHost by creating new instances of an ExtensionNode. There seems to miss something about how to retrieve and process data from the AddinHost.

For example, say I have a text editor, which processes RTF document, and I want to provide the possibility for addins to find/replace the document with its own way (For example, Regex / Forward / Backward / Whole document / Current Line...), so the addin need to get the content from AddinHost first. This is the question I need an answer for.

Any ideas?

So it would be great to provide the correct version as mentioned in the groups:

it would be great if you could provide a version with a modified
assembly and file version, which reflects 0.6.2. Currently it is still
set to 0.6.0.

The library is fully functional and doesn't have major bugs, and I haven't got much time to work on new features lately. The project is not dead, it just reached the initial goals. I plan to keep maintaining it.

I'm using Mono.Addins for my project. Here my code :

I'm get an error :

The  cause of the failure was: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not  load file or assembly 'Mono.Addins.CecilReflector, Version=0.6.0.0,  Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756' or one of its  dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.   File name: 'Mono.Addins.CecilReflector, Version=0.6.0.0,  Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756'
