Issue with Path and Custom Extension Attributes

I'm still learning this great plugin framework and I like it a lot, but I'm having one issue: When you try using a path with Custom Extension Attributes, and call GetExtensionNodes with the path as a parameter, you get back ExtensionNode<attributeType> instead of TypeExtensionNode<attributeType>. Is this a bug or is it by design (or a coding error on my part)? Is there any way to get TypeExtensonNode<attributeType> using a custom extension attribute with a path? It works fine when I remove the paths from the attributes and use AddinManager.GetExtensionNodes(typeof(type)).

Any help is appreciate.

By the way, even though the above is in c#, I'm actually using it with VB.NET (VS 2012) currently. I built the source from github a few days ago. I'm not using any XML (just attributes).
